I'm Olivia Pageau, and I'm your Jackson neighborhood reporter.
As someone who was born and raised in Jackson, I'm so excited to be sharing our story with the rest of mid-Michigan. You may know me from the time I spent with the Jackson Chamber and Experience Jackson, or from hopping around town to my favorite wineries and breweries.
Although, I didn't spend all my time here. I studied at Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!), where I majored in Recreation and Event Management and minored in Marketing. During my time in college, I was also heavily involved in the entrepreneurship program, where my love for small business began.
From there, I spent my first few years of my career working in the events industry in northern Michigan, where I still visit frequently and hope to return one day. However, I was admiring the economic development and startup culture growing in my hometown, from afar. For that reason, my career took me back to Jackson, where a spent some time connecting helping grow businesses big and small.
Now, I'm excited to have expanded my skill set into journalism. Though I still have a passion for events, marketing, and small business development, I'm excited for how being Jackson's Neighborhood Reporter will further put Jackson on the map as a great place to live, work, and play.
I hope to own my own small business one day, but for now, let's talk about yours! Send me an email!
