LANSING, Mich. — Jessy Grant from Seams Fabric joined us today to talk about a community based project mobilizing people to make masks for hospitals and other medical facilities.
Seams Fabric is a small shop in East Lansing, Michigan specializing in fashion fabric and garment patterns, with a small selection of quilt fabric as well. Their stock is primarily natural fibers with an emphasis on sustainability sourced materials and independent designers.
While their shop is closed during the shutdown, owner Jessy Gregg has worked to mobilize sewers to help others. This was in response to the call for masks.
To date, she and her volunteers have created and donated over 10,000 masks.
