Battle Creek Public Schools will move all students, Pre-K-12, to remote learning starting Monday.
The state’s three-week epidemic order only requires high schools and postsecondary schools to close to in-person instruction.
However, the surge of the coronavirus in Calhoun County and the strain it has put on the district’s staffing and operations led officials to move all grades to virtual learning, the district said.
Elementary students should be bringing their Chromebooks home with them on Friday.
All in-person activities for athletics and extracurriculars are also postponed effective immediately.
