Restrictions for Grand Valley State University students have been lifted after coronavirus cases decreased in the area, the Ottawa County Department of Public Health announced Friday.
The “Staying Safe” order had been effect since Oct. 2 and was scheduled to lift today.
Officials now recommend a “Staying Strong” approach to help protect the community.
“As cases continue to rise in the greater community, it is not time to relax any of the strong preventive approaches that have been put in place,” Health Officer Lisa Stefanovsky said in a letter to the GVSU community. “Stay strong on your efforts to continue testing, wearing face coverings, distancing and hand washing. The past four weeks have proven that these measures work.”
