Information released by the Treasury Department shows that nearly 20,000 companies in Michigan have been approved for loans of more than $150,000 from the Paycheck Protection Program started by the federal government to help keep small businesses open during the coronavirus pandemic.

The largest amount dispersed to companies is listed between $5-$10 million. In Michigan, 185 companies received loans in that range.

The information from the Treasury Department also shows that more than 100,000 Michigan businesses received loans of under $150,000.
