DETROIT — Matthew Stafford left the Lions game early with an ankle injury. It's the latest ailment for the quarterback, who has played through rib and thumb injuries.

Stafford seemed to tweak his ankle during the first quarter of Saturday's game against the Buccaneers, but finished the series.

He had his foot examined by athletic trainers before hobbling off to the locker room. Chase Daniel replaced Stafford at quarterback. The Lions said Stafford was questionable to return.
