LANSING, Mich. — Chicago Fire Soccer Club attacker Diego Campos has joined Lansing Ignite FC on loan, pending USL League One and federation approval. The Fire retains the right to recall Campos at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
Campos becomes the fourth Fire player to have joined Lansing on loan in 2019, joining defender Grant Lillard, defender/midfielder Raheem Edwards and goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland. Lillard and Cleveland recently competed for Lansing in the club’s League One regular season match against North Texas SC on May 18.
Lansing will face off against one of the top teams in League One, South Georgia Tormenta FC, at 8 p.m. ET from Erk Russell Park in Statesboro, Georgia, on Saturday. Led by Head Coach Nate Miller, who is the youngest head coach across all U.S. professional soccer leagues (MLS, USL Championship and USL League One), LIFC is 2-3-3 in League One play, which is good enough for sixth in the standings.
