Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green is reportedly planning to retire after 15 years in the NHL, according to a report in The Athletic.
"I’ve been very fortunate to turn my passion into my profession, but at this point in my life, I’m considering other things that I feel called to do," he told The Athletic.
Green has played the last five years for the Red Wings before being traded to the Edmonton Oilers in February. He played 10 years for the Washington Capitals before coming to Detroit.
He had 37 goals and 104 assists in 303 games for Detroit.
