LANSING, Mich — The Michigan High School Athletic Association told schools to "suspend practice immediately" while they clear up some of the requirements handed down by the Michigan Department of health and Human Services.
The MHSAA says they are in the midst of adjusting schedules for football, volleyball, and girls swimming & diving. They are combing over the pilot rapid testing program from the MDHHS.
The games schedule will change depending on the new required testing schedule.
"Due to requirements and need for more direction from MDHHS that will be forthcoming in the next week, the MHSAA has instructed schools still participating in those sports to suspend practice immediately." The MHSAA wrote. "With teams restarting practice Dec. 30 at the earliest, competition dates also could be
rescheduled."
More instruction as well as the rapid-result antigen tests are expected by December 29th. The MDHHS will be giving webinar training on December 28th and 29th to school personnel.
The organization promises to announce new dates for competitions on their website.
