Lansing Catholic is used to making deep runs in the playoffs. After starting off 0-3 a season ago, the Cougars made a run to the regional finals. They have to replace a lot from last year's team. That's a challenge they are looking forward to heading into this fall.
"It's always going to be fun. We have a new group and they bring new energy. The kids have been very upbeat and have great energy this year," Lansing Catholic head coach Jim Baker said.
After that run to the regional final a year ago, Catholic is looking to take that momentum into this season with a lot of young experience. Six seniors on this year's team. It’ll be on those players to help provide leadership for the team if they want to get where they want to.
"Just utilizing some of the experience that we have. We are again a really young team and just using that experience to our advantage and helping out some of the younger guys," Lansing Catholic wide receiver Braden Rabideau said.
"It's kind of looking at guys from last year and taking on their roles. There were a lot of guys who took leadership positions last year and just filling in those spots," Lansing Catholic offensive lineman Jacob Alvarado said.
Lansing Catholic travels to Lansing Waverly to open the season on Thursday, August 24th.
