LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Ignite FC standouts Rafa Mentzingen, Xavier Gomez and Grant Stoneman have been named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 21.
Mentzingen, who was named the League One Player of the Month for July, had one goal on five shots overall and also completed six of eight dribbles and 19 of 25 passes in Ignite FC’s 2-1 road victory against Orlando.
Gomez, who has now been named to the Team of the Week five times in 2019, had one goal, two key passes and completed 53 of 58 passes overall while also notching 10 recoveries and going five of seven on tackles.
Lastly, Stoneman completed 42 of 54 passes, including one key pass, and defensively won six of seven duels and four of four aerials.
Tumi Moshobane, Mentzingen and Stoneman are the only LIFC players to have earned Player of the Week honors in 2019, while nine Lansing players have received Team of the Week honors this regular season: Kevin Coiffic, Ivo Cerda, Nick Moon, Stefan Cleveland, Elma Nfor, Moshobane, Stoneman, Mentzingen and Gomez.
