Detroit Tigers pitcher Spencer Torkelson will be limited in the days ahead at the team's spring training camp after cutting his finger.
Manager AJ Hinch said Torkelson cut his right index finger at his house Wednesday night.
"He did receive a stitch or two, I'm not sure how many," Hinch said. "Very mild, but also something that you're going to see him limited."
Hinch said Torkelson won't be able to hit or throw, but will do some fielding work in the meantime.
"He'll be limited a couple days and obviously won't play in the first few games, and we'll see how it heals.
Torkelson offered a more lighthearted take on the situation.
"When life cuts your finger, buy a can opener and then laugh it off," Torkelson posted on Twitter, adding an index finger emoji.
