Datsyuk, 40, announced last month his career with SKA St. Petersburg had come to an end, fueling speculation that he could return to Detroit.

In January, TSN reported that Datsyuk's agent, Dan Milstein, told a Russian TV station that Datsyuk wasn't ready to retire when his KHL contract ended.
