The Detroit Tigers have hired Michigan Baseball's Chris Fetter as the team's pitching coach. Manager A.J. Hinch confirmed the report on Friday to MLB Network.

Fetter has been considered a rising star in the baseball industry, according to Jon Morosi.

He's been with Michigan for three seasons and has coached several pitchers that were drafted in the first rounds of the past two MLB drafts.

Before his role at Michigan, he was a minor league pitching coordinator for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He was also a four-year letterwinner for Michigan Baseball and a three-time All-Big Ten selection. He ranks first in Michigan Baseball history with 332.1 innings pitched, third in career wins with 28 and third in career strikeouts with 281.
