Up and down the Tigers roster, there is hope that a player will "turn things around," or "stay healthy this year."

Truly, that's every roster in baseball.

Al Avila is rebuilding the roster, the farm system, and everything in between, but there are still intriguing storylines to watch in the big leagues.

The story starts with Miguel Cabrera, who returns to the team for the first time since suffering his biceps injury early last season. He says he's not worried about his arm, but rather his back and knee, as he approaches his 36th birthday.

The pitching staff is loaded with talent, but Jordan Zimmermann, Michael Fulmer, and Daniel Norris are all returning from injuries. Fulmer spent almost his entire offseason in Florida, rehabbing and working his body to get to playing shape again.

More questions loom.

Can Niko Goodrum adjust to life as a full-time second baseman?

Is Grayson Greiner ready to be an everyday catcher?

Will Jeimer Candelario ready to shake off a tough 2018 season and take a big step forward?

Will Nick Castellanos play the entire season for Detroit or will he get moved?
