The Winnipeg Jets have claimed former Red Wings goaltender Eric Comrie off waivers, the team announced on Thursday.
The team put him on waivers as Jimmy Howard is expected to return to the Red Wings soon. He's currently on a conditioning stint in Grand Rapids.
Currently, Jonathan Bernier is the only goaltender the Red Wings have in the lineup, and they're expected to call someone up for Saturday's game.
In November, the team traded Vili Saarijarvi to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Comrie.
He started just two games for Detroit, giving up nine goals in two losses.
