LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Community College is pleased to announce that former Spartan standout, Jordan Keur is the new head baseball coach for the Stars.
Keur comes to LCC with four seasons behind him as an assistant with MSU working primarily with the Spartans’ outfielders and assisting the team with baserunning.
The 2018 Spartans set a new school record for bases stolen with 100 for the season, smashing the old record of 98 stolen bases by the 2005 squad.
Under Keur’s leadership in 2017, MSU was second in the Big Ten in stolen base attempts with 123, and ranked third in stolen bases with 96.
LCC President Brent Knight said, “We feel very fortunate to have someone of Jordan’s caliber. He’s a proven winner and we feel confident that he is the best fit to lead our baseball program into the future.”
As team captain his senior season with MSU, Keur led the team with a .337 average and 20 RBI, before tearing his Achilles. That same year he received MSU’s Kirk Gibson Offensive Player of the Year award.
Keur, an Academic All-American graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and went on to play professionally for the Washington Wild Things. He also served as an assistant for the Eastern Michigan University baseball program in 2015.
