LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Ignite FC will kick off the Capital Area United Way’s Diaper Drive over Mother’s Day weekend. LIFC will be accepting diaper donations during the May 11 match against Greenville Triumph SC at Cooley Law School Stadium (BUY TICKETS [mpv.tickets.com]) to support many non-profit organizations providing services to the Mid-Michigan community.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Lansing Ignite FC and LAFCU on our diaper drive this year,” said Teresa Kmetz, President of the Capital Area United Way. “This drive helps stock local shelves for several months and will immediately be put to use by families in need of diapers and wipes for their children. Having Lansing Ignite and LAFCU as partners will help ensure a successful diaper drive for families in need.”
For those who are unable to attend the match on May 11, you can donate diapers at any LAFCU branch tri-county location throughout the month of May.
“We’re always looking for ways to give back to the Lansing community, so we’re thrilled to work with the Capital Area United Way’s Diaper Drive this year,” said Jeremy Sampson, LIFC Vice President and General Manager.
The match on May 11 is also Soccer Mom Appreciation Night, presented by WILX News 10. Ahead of the match, fans young and old can sign up here [lansingignite.com] for a chance to win a surprise box suite for their mom to the match. During the match, Ignite FC will ask fans to share why their mother is Lansing’s Best Soccer Mom at the match.
LIFC is now 2-3-0 in USL League One play and is preparing for its third and final regular season meeting against the Richmond Kickers on May 4.
