LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State wrestlers Cameron Caffey and Peyton Omania will be representing the United States at the Junior Greco-Roman World Championships this week in Tallinn, Estonia.

While action started on Monday with the freestyle wrestling portion of the tournament, Caffey will open action in the 87 kg division on Friday, Aug. 16, while Omania will be competing in the 67 kg division that gets underway Saturday, Aug. 17.

The Spartan duo earned their trips to Estonia by both winning their respective weight classes at the UWW Junior World Greco-Roman Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada in April.

Omania and Caffey each have decorated Greco-Roman backgrounds, with Omania a member of the Junior World Team that traveled to Trnava, Slovakia last summer. Omania was also a Cadet World Team member in 2016. A runner-up at the U.S. Open last season, Caffey traveled to Fortaleza, Brazil as a member of the Junior Pan-American team and took home two gold medals (Greco-Roman, 87kg and Freestyle, 92kg) at the 2018 Junior Pan-American Championships.
