LANSING, Mich. — We'll have active weather these next few days to close out the 2010's decade. A low pressure system continues to bring rain through our area Sunday morning, but will taper off to spotty showers in the afternoon. A second round of rain sweeps in overnight with temperatures staying close to 50 degrees approaching Monday morning. Thunder may be possible south of the I-96 corridor. About 0.75" to 1.0" of rain can be expected.

Rain showers stick around to begin the day Monday, which will be a breezy day with falling temperatures. The morning high in the middle to upper 40s will cool into the middle 30s by the afternoon as the showers taper off. Snow showers are expected to develop late Monday night and into the Tuesday morning commute. While minimal impacts are expected at this time, we'll have to watch this closely.

We're mainly dry for the first few days of 2020 with temperatures remaining on the mild side, as highs are in the 40s into the first weekend of the New Year.
