Today's Forecast - Accumulating snow with blowing and drifting

LANSING, Mich. — Snow fought against dry air at the surface level overnight, but continues to push through making its way to the surface level throughout the morning commute. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place until 4 P.M. this afternoon for the entire viewing area. Snow will become heavy at times early this morning leading to a general 2" to 4" for most locations with some spots picking up isolated higher amounts. Plan ahead to give yourself extra time this morning with some blowing and drifting occurring. The rest of the workweek looks quiet with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies and chilly temps in the middle 20s. Our next system to watch will arrive at some point during the back half of this coming weekend.

TODAY: Snow likely. 2" TO 4" likely across the area. Breezy too, with blowing and drifting. There may also be some freezing drizzle this afternoon. Winds chills in the teens. Highs near 30. Northeast to north winds at 10 to 20 mph.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy early but becoming partly cloudy inland overnight. Lows in the mid-teens. North winds at 5 to 10 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the middle 20s. North winds at 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the middle 20s.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs in the middle 20s.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 20s.
