LANSING, Mich. — Most of us are waking up to readings in the teens with wind chills in the single digits. This will likely lead to ice forming in spots that were left wet after the snow. When temps fall this low, salt loses it's effectiveness to stop ice from forming. The rest of the workweek looks quiet with partly cloudy to partly sunny skies and chilly temps in the middle 20s. There could be a few flurries around Wednesday and Thursday, but accumulating snow is not expected. Our next system to watch will arrive at some point during the back half of this coming weekend.

TODAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Highs in the middle 20s. North winds at 6 to 12 mph.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and cold inland. Flurries at the immediate lakeshore. Lows in the single digits inland, teens at the lakeshore. Winds north at 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy to partly sunny. Flurries possible at the lakeshore. Highs in the middle 20s. Winds northwest at 7 to 14 mph.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs in the middle 20s.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 20s.
