LANSING, Mich. — High pressure will yield more sunshine for Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures rebounding into the middle 30s. Our next system arrives Thursday afternoon with a light wintry mix. Accumulations are possible Thursday evening into early Friday morning. A much colder phase of weather starts to get in motion on Friday but more particularly this coming weekend into early next week with daytime highs only in the teens as a portion of the polar vortex drops into the Great Lakes. The best chance for any flurries or snow showers looks to be on Friday and Sunday. In fact, there may be heavy lake effect snow in the typical snow belts on Sunday and Monday with highs only in the teens.
TODAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the low/mid 30s. North/northwest winds at 5 to 15 mph.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows in the low to mid-teens. North/northwest winds at 5-10 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the middle 30s. Northwest to southwest winds at 5-10 mph.
THURSDAY: Increasing clouds. A chance for afternoon and evening rain/snow showers. Breezy. Highs in the middle 30s.
FRIDAY: Cloudy with the chance of snow showers. Windy & colder. Highs in the mid to upper 20s around daybreak, falling to near 20 degrees during the afternoon.
SATURDAY: Cloudy with some flurries possible. Highs only working toward 20 degrees.
