LANSING, Mich. — Mostly cloudy skies will kick off the new workweek. Flurries and a few snow showers are possible this morning. A new fairly weak system passes just off to our south Monday evening and brings a widespread area of light snow back to the region. Light accumulations of a coating to an inch or two will be possible in land by early Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday looks fairly quiet before the potential for new snow showers enters the picture Thursday afternoon/evening into Friday morning. The cold pattern is to persist through at least the next 10 days.
TODAY: Cloudy with scattered snow showers especially along the lakeshore. The best chance for area wide snow will be late afternoon and through the evening. Highs in the upper teens. Southwest winds at 5-10 mph.
TONIGHT: Cloudy with light snow likely especially from around I-96 and southward. A coating to an inch or two possible ( heavier amounts of 2-4" and 3-6"+ possible along the Lakeshore ). Lows near 10 degrees. Light southwest winds become north or northeast overnight.
TUESDAY: Cloudy with snow showers, mainly during the morning. Highs in the upper teens. North to northwest winds at 5-10 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. A few flurries possible. Highs in the upper teens.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Snow showers developing in the afternoon and evening. Highs near 20 degrees.
