LANSING, Mich. — This weekend's holiday food fest got started a bit early.
A Rib-fest was held at the Lansing's Westlund's Apple Market Friday.
The family-owned grocery store said the Rib-fest was held to get customers ready for the Spartan football game.
But, for the employees at the downtown location, it's all about the ribs.
"We're doing Rib-fest, we do it, we try to do it every couple of weeks. It's pretty much cook out the ribs and you come in and buy them," Cecelia Breininger, store manager said.
This is the third Rib-fest for the market this summer. In past years, there have been more, but the wet spring kept Westlund's grill in storage.
The owners say the plan is for at least one more this year.
