LANSING, Mich. — Saturday, October 12 The Lansing Chapter American Guild of Organists will host a children’s program featuring Rob Hlebinsky, guest organist, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Lansing (218 West Ottawa St.). Rob’s program will feature organ music from Walt Disney movies as well as some more traditional works.
The program will give the kids an overview of all the components of the pipe organ – the pipes, the console, and how everything is connected. They will get a close up look at
different types of pipes and learn how they produce all the various sounds of the organ.
The program will be interspersed with organ music. There will be plenty of time for the kids to ask questions. Time permitting, they will even have a chance to try out the instruments for themselves.
This delightful program begins at 3:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. pizza and beverages will be available at $5.00 per person/$10.00 per family.
A recital of Disney music will follow at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public at large.
A free-will offering will be taken to help defray Mr. Hlebinsky’s artistic fee.
