Silver Bells in the City

The city will glow with thousands of lights for the Silver Bells in the City celebration, bringing together family and friends from across Michigan and beyond to kick-off the holiday season. The Electric Light Parade, Silver Bells Village, lighting of the State Christmas Tree and musical entertainment are all part of this Lansing tradition.

Downtown Jackson Christmas Parade
NOVEMBER 22, 2019 | 6:00 PM-8:00 PM
During this holiday season, the 2019 Downtown Jackson Christmas parade will feature floats, clowns, marching bands and an amazing ending with Santa.
The parade starts at Blackstone and Michigan Ave. Traveling east down Michigan Ave. ending at Francis Street. Michigan Ave will be closed starting around 4pm. You may park in any of the City Parking lots.
Shop till you drop, something for everyone. Also a come as you are, All breed horse show including freestyle reining, trail, walk trot, leadline, all age groups, lope classes english and western and halter classes.

A Christmas Carol ft. Nebraska Theater Caravan
November 22 - 7-10 PM
This celebrated Charles Jones adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is rich with thrilling ensemble music, alive with color and movement and is created to tell this great and enduring tale in a manner that people of all ages will enjoy. Woven throughout this classic tale are beautiful new arrangements and moving renditions of holiday songs such as God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Wassail Wassail, Good Christian Men Rejoice, Away in a Manger, Greensleeves, The Boar’s Head Carol and many more. Featuring a cast of 23 performers, live musicians, and Broadway-style scenery and costumes, audiences cherish this sumptuous holiday classic.

Carnival of the Animals at the Potter Center
Saturday, November 23
Two pianos are better than one! Join us as we bring two pianos to the stage for Saint-Saëns’s dynamic Carnival of the Animals and Poulenc’s virtuosic concerto in D minor. Opening with the whimsical Overture to The Pirates of Penzance, the program also includes Jacques Ibert’s Divertissement accompanied by artwork from Jackson student artists.
