LANSING, Mich. — Carrie Rosingana has stepped into the role of chief executive officer for Capital Area Michigan Works! effective July 1, 2020.
Prior to her CEO role, Rosingana served as CAMW!’s chief operating officer and equal opportunity officer. In her role as COO, Rosingana achieved 100% of successful performance outcomes across all programs during her tenure, as well as successfully passed the recent official State of Michigan Equal Opportunity review which highlighted diversity and inclusive practices put into action under her leadership efforts.
“Capital Area Michigan Works! has consistently provided exceptional services to the employers and job seekers we work alongside to help support regional economic prosperity,” said Rosingana. “As the CEO of Capital Area Michigan Works!, I plan to continue to have our agency looked upon as an innovative thought leader in workforce development initiatives and programs that benefit the greater good of the capital region, as well as the State of Michigan.”
Rosingana has worked in workforce development since 2007, starting at Peckham, Inc. as a career coach and case manager within the Michigan Works! system before becoming Capital Area Michigan Works!’ quality assurance officer, and then the chief compliance officer, and finally COO. Rosingana holds a bachelor’s degree in family community service from Michigan State University as well as a variety of certifications and trainings from organizations such as the State of Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget and the National Council for Behavioral Health.
Service to others has been a cornerstone of Rosingana’s life, growing up in Cadillac under the tutelage of her father, the city’s utility director, and her mother, a public health nurse. She has carried a dedication to public service with her every step of her career. Rosingana’s goals as new CEO reflect this dedication. Rosingana strongly believes relationship building and maintaining are key to the strength of CAMW! and her first goal as new CEO is to take time to meet with each of CAMW!’s current board members, staff and regional partners.
“It's important to me to first listen to CAMW!’s board, staff and partners to gain a better understanding of what has worked well for CAMW! to date and then determine where there are opportunities to strategically innovate and collaborate in the future,” said Rosingana. “It’s also important to me to listen to our community. My virtual door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to connect.”
The experience and passion Rosingana brings to her new role as CEO will guide the agency into continuing to find innovative ways to serve Ingham, Clinton and Eaton counties.
Rosingana is also dedicated to cultivating an inclusive and diverse culture, both internally at CAMW! and in the community.
“I’ve put diversity, equity and inclusion practices into place throughout the agency, and my own career pathway within CAMW! has provided invaluable perspectives from the frontlines to the administrative staff,” said Rosingana. “We have a dynamic team, and I’m thankful to work with people who inspire me.”
