MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MI — Celebrate Groundhog Day with a winter walk on Sunday, February 2nd at 2:00 pm at the Harris Nature Center (3998 Van Atta Road) in Meridian Township. During the Woodchuck Day Walk, participants will learn that the Groundhog has many different names. We will spend time on the trail learning about the habits of this true hibernating animal.
“The Woodchuck has some amazing adaptations that many people are unaware of,” said Park Naturalist Allison Goodman. “This is a great time to get some fresh air and learn about this Michigan mammal.”
Goodman recommends dressing for the weather as this program takes place outside.
The fee is $3/ person or $7/ family and is due at the time of the program. For more information and to sign up, contact hnc@meridian.mi.us or 517.349.3866.
