LANSING, Mich. — The Ingham County Treatment Courts Foundation (ICTCF) celebrates its 8th annual breakfast on Friday, October 25, at the Country Club of Lansing. The breakfast begins at 7:30 am.

The ICTCF supports local treatment courts* and their participants by providing monetary assistance to alleviate everyday financial obstacles that may hinder a participant’s progress towards sobriety while in the Court’s rehabilitation programs. Examples include assisting with substance abuse counseling fees, transportation costs, bills, utilities, drug screenings and any other needs that threaten their ability to finish the intensive court-ordered program.

This year’s keynote speakers will include ICTCF graduates, along with special guest: Staff Sgt. Tommy Rieman. Rieman has over 14 years of service in the Army and is a recipient of the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for valor in Iraq. He was also enrolled in North Carolina’s first-ever Veteran’s Treatment Court program.

“11 years ago, members of the community came together and decided that we needed to assist, at first the Sobriety Court, and now all of the Treatment Courts of Ingham County, because unfortunately their funding sources do not allow them to provide all the services needed for those going through the programs,” says Foster Swift attorney and Foundation President, John Nicolucci.

“90% of the people that participate in these programs do not fall back into their old habits or addictions,” adds Foundation Executive Director Jerre Cory.
