BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — ZooLights returns to Binder Park Zoo on November 29 to dazzle guests every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:00-8:00pm, now through December 22. Come see the zoo transformed into a holiday wonderland with festive light displays and holiday décor. Bring the family, a date or your co-workers for the merriest visit to the zoo and see the twinkling trees and illuminated buildings under the nighttime sky.
Special entertainment at ZooLights will feature the princesses and superheroes from Western Michigan University’s Moment of Magic on November 30, December 14 and 21 from 5:00-7:00pm at the carousel, the Kalamazoo Sound Builders singing a capella carols throughout the zoo on December 14 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, and two shows from Stormy the Magician and Balloon Twister at the Binda Conservation Discovery Center on December 20 and 21 at 5:30pm.
Visit Santa Claus at his holiday headquarters in the Conservation Hall and drop a letter with your wish list in his mailbox. See the winter-hardy animals on exhibit and hear Keeper Chats each evening at 6:30pm. Grab a meal at Beulah’s Restaurant or a treat at the Brass Ring. Stop by the Adventure Station of the Binda Conservation Discovery Center for a peek at the reptiles and amphibians where zoo educators will present Critter Encounters throughout the evening, too.
One of the most popular experiences at ZooLights is Dinner with Santa. Enjoy a delicious, traditional family style meal with the jolly old elf himself! Reservations are required for Dinner with Santa with seating still available for Saturday, November 30, December 7, or 21 from 5:00-6:00pm, but hurry – space is limited for this exclusive experience with Santa Claus!
New this year is ZooLights Date Night on Friday, December 13 from 5:00-8:00pm. Bring that someone special to ZooLights where guests over age 21 with valid ID can enjoy two “Cheer Stations” to purchase select Bell’s craft brews or Round Barn spiked hot cocoa and mulled wine. Musician Grayson Barton will perform holiday tunes fireside at Beulah’s and fun “date-night” themed activities like a seed-sheet craft, and adult “mad lib” style letters to Santa add to the festivities.
Back by popular demand is Cocoa and Canvas where you can channel your inner artist to create a whimsical, zoo-themed holiday masterpiece. Choose from two sessions, Sunday, December 8 or Sunday, December 15, from 1:00-4:00pm where you’ll be guided step-by-step in the process – no experience needed. $30 per person includes instruction, materials and refreshments plus admission to ZooLights. Cocoa and Canvas is suggested for ages 10 and up and reservations are required.
Make short order of your holiday shopping at the Safari Gift Shop. Open every evening of ZooLights, the gift shop is fully stocked with fun and unique gifts at every price point. You’re sure to find the perfect gift for every animal lover on your list!

· General admission to ZooLights is $6 per person ($5 for zoo members) sold at the gate.
- Dinner with Santa is $20 for ages 11 and up and $15 for ages 2-10. Children under the age of two enter and dine for free. The gate opens early at 4:30 for Dinner with Santa guests.
- Cocoa and Canvas is $30 per person and the gate opens at 12:45 for Cocoa and Canvas guests.
