Homeless Angels opens food truck

Posted

Homeless Angels has opened a new food truck to further their mission of helping the homeless.

In addition to feeding the homeless at their weekly Dinner in the Park, the food truck will be used as a tool to help teach the homeless culinary skills they could use in a future job. The food truck will also help children who rely on meals at school; the truck will be available during summer and other breaks to provide meals when kids would otherwise go without because they are not getting their meal at school. Lastly, the food truck will be used for fundraising events which will allow Homeless Angels to continue to help those in need.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 11 a.m. at the Burkewood Inn, with representatives from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. The public was able to tour the food truck.
