LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Community College is moving forward in its search for its next president. At a special board meeting Tuesday, Jan. 7, the LCC Board of Trustees put forth a resolution to establish a Presidential Screening committee.

A screening committee will be formed with a membership that represents the college’s stakeholders and whose members are appointed by the board chair, Trustee Lawrence Hidalgo, Jr. The LCC Board of Trustees determined that the screening committee would be comprised of 11-15 members.

The chair of the screening committee will work directly with the search firm Greenwood-Asher & Associates, which was unanimously selected by the board on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to lead the search for LCC’s seventh president.

The screening committee is tasked with ensuring a nationwide search to identify the most outstanding candidates available and providing a shortlist of three to five candidate recommendations for board consideration.

The LCC Board of Trustees wishes to hire a new president by July 1, 2020. Input is being sought from the LCC community and the community at large regarding the Presidential Profile for the college’s new leadership. A Campus Forum will take place from 9–10:00 a.m. and 1–2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 in the Michigan Room, Gannon Building on LCC’s Downtown Campus. Those unable to attend this forum are asked to submit their presidential candidate profile suggestions to the presidential search website. This forum and presidential candidate profile request are in keeping with the board’s desire for an open process that includes community input.

The presidential website, located at lcc.edu/presidentialsearch [lcc.edu], will be updated continuously and will provide ongoing details as they become available.
