Opening a New Psychiatric and Primary Care Clinic for all ages on 9/9/19.

Located at 6110 Abbot Road East Lansing, MI 48823

Robbing Cutting with Meridian Township on 9/25/19 at 11am. Lunch will be available.

Background of the Clinic:

Dr. Ronald Melvin, he goes by Dr. Ron Melvin:

He is a psychiatrist, the president and Chief Medical Officer of Michigan Psychiatric & Primary Care Clinic. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and also completed his residency at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He has been a practicing psychiatrist for over 30 years, including numerous years at a couple of Community Mental Health Centers. He currently works at a couple different inpatient psychiatric hospitals. Dr. Melvin is also an incredible advocate for mental health given his years of experience in working with patients battling mental health conditions.

Tham Doan:

Tham Doan is a bilingual and knowledgeable nurse practitioner, speaking both Vietamese and English. She is an Advanced Practitioner, with the ability to examine, assess, diagnos, treat, prescribe and refer patients with a variety of health conditions. Tham Doan graduated from Olivet College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, while also obtaining her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Michigan Nursing school in Ann Arbor, MI. She then graduated from Spring Arbor University with her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She will graduate from University of Michigan, Flint with her degree as Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the end of this year (2019). She worked as a hospital nurse for over 7 years, working mainly as a float nurse throughout the hospital. Tham was one of the few nurses who was capable of floating to the hospital’s inpatient psychiatric floor, and inpatient hospice. She also previously worked as a nurse practitioner at an urgent care, where she was the medical clinic director for Sequel Youth Services Resident program. Tham currently also works as a nurse practitioner at an outpatient psychiatric clinic. She is also a wonderful advocate for her patients. She strongly believes in treating a person as a whole - mind, body and soul.

Both Dr. Melvin and Tham Doan, NP are excited to be opening Michigan Psychiatric & Primary Care Clinic to help the growing need for mental health and primary care services in the community. Tham has a passion for helping the Vietnamese community, especially those that are not able to speak English in the Lansing area. She was trained by a well-known Vietnamese Family Physician before he retired, Dr. Trinh Nguyen.

The clinic’s vision is to work with people, helping them build a healthier, happier, brighter and better life.

Michigan Psychiatric & Primary Care Clinic offers psychiatric, primary care and counseling services for all ages. The clinic is also a certified Spravato Treatment Center providing Esketamine nasal spray treatments for treatment-resistant depression. Additionally, Michigan Psychiatric & Primary Care Clinic will be offering hydration, vitamin infusion, an onsite pharmacy, massage therapy, chiropractic, laser hair removal, acne treatment, skin treatments and more very soon.
