OLIVET, Mich. — Olivet College is launching an accelerated and expanded MBA program this fall. The expansion embraces the changing needs of today’s professionals and supports the increasing needs of specific industries with advanced online learning technology. The Olivet College MBA program provides students and professionals with a graduate degree that is tailored to their unique circumstances through a program that is fast, flexible and convenient.
Olivet College has expanded its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program to offer three specialized concentrations: Insurance (MBA-Insurance), Enterprise Risk Management (MBA-ERM), and a General or “custom” concentration that tailors the curriculum to students’ individual goals. Olivet College is a pioneer in bachelor’s and master’s degree offerings in Risk Management and Insurance and is currently ranked number two in the nation for insurance programs by BEST Review.
“We are excited to announce the expansion of Olivet College’s Master of Business Administration program, the College’s premier graduate program,” said Michael Oyster, chair of the Department of Business and a professor of business. “Professionals who strive to excel with broader leadership responsibilities as they advance their career experience immediate benefits from graduate-level courses and begin to distinguish themselves even during their studies. Our insurance industry partners tell us our program is outstanding; our MBA equips students with the skills and critical thinking that lead to breakthrough performance and strategic direction, creating a stronger industry and a stronger nation.”
Building on over a decade of experience with leading-edge technology, each MBA concentration offers live, online, instructor-led, virtual classes, tailored to the unique needs of professional learners. Students can participate from anywhere, on any device, via the Internet. Students can also take advantage of a “Flexschedule” that lets them participate in the class, not in real-time, yet interact with the professor with the full classroom experience. Students can “time shift” the class to meet their professional schedule or learning preference. In addition, students will learn from expert faculty who are industry executives and professionals, and have plenty of opportunities to network and collaborate with classmates from all over the United States.
Classes are on a rotational basis with four terms a year: January, March, June and September. Each term is nine weeks in length and students may start any term. In addition, the Olivet College MBA program allows for the waiver or transfer of credits, recognizing that MBA students often demonstrate mastery of content through other graduate-level coursework or through professional designations such as CPCU, CPA, CFA or FRM.
