Willow Health Center to relocate on March 17

LANSING, Mich. — Willow Health Center, part of the Ingham Community Health Centers, will relocate and open in a new, more central Lansing location on March 17.

Willow Health Center provides care to people ages 10-21 years old and has occupied its north Lansing location since 1984. The new location, formerly the River Oak Community Health Center, is more centrally located and accessible, and offers more exam rooms as well as a community meeting space. Willow Health Center will be closed March 13-16 for the move.

“Willow Health Center has been a resource to young people in this community for more than a generation. This move represents our continued commitment to ensuring access to care for youth and their families in the Greater Lansing Area for generations to come,” said Deputy Health Officer and Executive Director of Ingham Community Health Centers, Anne Scott. “Our new location is in more accessible facility, directly off a bus route, and gives us space to expand our services to the community The young people of the Lansing Area deserve a safe, accessible, beautiful space just for them, and this move will ensure that access to adolescent health care services remains strong in the community.”

Willow Health Center offers primary health care services, such as wellness exams and sport physicals, as well as confidential services to minors such as: pregnancy testing; family planning services; screenings, prevention and treatment for sexually transmitted infections; and behavioral health services. Willow is part of Ingham County’s school-based/school-linked health center program, ensuring access to care for the Lansing School District community. Willow Health Center is part of Ingham Community Health Centers’ network of Federally Qualified Health Centers, and receives Health Center Program funding through the Health Resources and Services Administration, as well Child and Adolescent Health Center Program funds through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The new site is on CATA Route #8 and is located at 1115 S. Pennsylvania Avenue in Lansing. The location is geographically closer to the homes of many current Willow Health Center patients.
