LANSING, Mich. — The annual enrollment period for Medicare starts Oct. 15 and Sparrow and Physicians Health Plan are offering free educational seminars to help eligible enrollees understand the sometimes-complex options.
With the aging of the Baby Boomer population, the Medicare population is rapidly expanding, making coverage choices more crucial than ever.
The seminars last about an hour and attendees will learn: why it’s important to evaluate current Medicare coverage every year; the pros and cons of Medicare coverage options; what to consider when deciding what option is right for you; and ways to save money and get better Medicare coverage in 2020.
The enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. Coverage for beneficiaries begins Jan. 1, 2020.
The seminars, which include complimentary lunch or dinner, will be held at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 5-6:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Wednesday, Aug. 28, Hilton Garden Inn, 633 N. Canal Road, Lansing.
- Wednesday, Sept. 4, Physicians Health Plan building, 1400 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing
